This dream has been the driving force of Touching Souls International which has been working to bring about a change in the lives of thousands of people. The nonprofit organization stands by its mission of philanthropic activities which give hope to the poor and the needy.
Touching Souls International has tried to make small contribution to the cause of mankind and brotherhood for the last 25 years. It has been successful in helping people who live in utter poverty in some of the most backward regions of the country. Supported by its active base of volunteers the nonprofit organization has been able to bring in a new sense of hope to these people.
The New York based nonprofit organization has devoted itself to the cause of the people in some of the remote areas of Bangladesh. The organization which has run as a family funded institution for more than two decades has been trying to encourage people to take to philanthropy and helping bring about change in the lives of thousands of poor and the underprivileged.
Each year Touching Souls International conducts dozens of medical camps where poor villagers from these backward areas are examined by doctors for ailments such as cataract, cleft-lip, club foot and others. The nonprofit organization also facilitates free surgeries for patients who are recommended the same by the medical experts. It also offers post-operative care to the patients and oversees their healing.
One of the main reasons for Bangladesh’s backwardness is the high rate of illiteracy among the masses. Only about half the population in the country knows how to read or write and the rate of school dropout is alarming. Touching Souls International has been running two schools one for the kids in village and one for those in slums to support education. It is trying to raise more funds through philanthropy which will enable it to start more schools and provide scholarship to meritorious students who are forced to quit schooling due to extreme poverty.
To strengthen its philanthropic mission the nonprofit organization has been trying to raise awareness regarding the projects and programs it has been undertaking in the rural parts of Bangladesh. It also has been guaranteeing 100% accountability of the money donated for the projects to the philanthropists. All contributions made to Touching Souls International are 501(C) (3) tax-exempt making all the donations tax deductible for the donors.
The philanthropic missions has been a remarkable journey for Touching Souls International as in the last 25 years it has been able to bring smile in the face of thousands of people in Bangladesh. It has been a great feeling for the entire team to take to philanthropy and stand beside the lesser children of the god and share their grief and pain for the cause of brotherhood.
